asbestos plasterboard

asbestos plasterboard
Is this breaking Trade Laws ?

We recently hired a skip from a company and on the receipt we were given it says no asbestos we followed this as we need to fill the skip up with plasterboard however now they have come to collect the skip and have said that plasterboard is not allowed and therefore we will have to pay an extra fee however on the receipt it was not stated or we were not told that plasterboard was not allowed ?? please help :)

You don’t really have to reach to trade laws which, in the UK, are additional rights granted to people trading as consumers to redress the normal imbalance of power between a large company and the individual customer being served. This is a straightforward contractual breach by the skip hire company and you should agree to pay no more than the original price. If you’ve already paid then don’t pay any more and if you haven’t paid yet hold the payment back until the skip is removed.
