asbestos symptoms
If there is asbestos in your house what are some things it can do to the people living in the house?

Can it be crippling, what are some of the symptoms, and can the damage go away after the people in the house move away ?

Can the asbestos be removed ?

When asbestos is used in the construction of a home, is there usually a lot used, or is tons of it used all over the house, (i.e., is it used to hold the whole house together or just a small part of the house ?

Asbestos is primarily used as an insulator – mostly for pipes, and sometimes on electrical wires. As long as the asbestos is not actively flaking off (which it probably is not as long as no one is touching it) there is no real danger. The danger of asbestos is the prolonged breathing of its dust, mostly experienced by people that mined asbestos, or, ironically, those involved in its removal.

The asbestos can be removed – the safest way (although not the cheapest) is to contact a company that specializes in asbestos removal. The odds are that you are entirely safe, as residential applications use very little asbestos.
